PRS-T1 PRS T1 Warranty??

I got a PRS T1 for a Christmas present so it won't be used until after that time.

What are the warranty terms with the PRS T1? One year?? Or what??

Are you saying someone bought you the unit now and you won't open it for 3 months? Never a wise idea IMO. I bought mine from the Sony store. If I want my money back I only have 15 days to decide. If I bought it from Best Buy, I'd have 30 days. After that, you're SOL for a return. Warranty has nothing to do with returns or exchanges.

Warranty is irrelevant. If it's a Christmas gift have the person buy it for you much closer to Christmas so you can have that 30 day return window or open it now and play with it to see if it functions properly and that you like it before the store's return date policy expires.

In the case of the Sony store, if there's a problem with the unit after 15 days it has to be sent out for repairs. That's where the warranty kicks in, which is 1 year. I don't see how it's relevant to your situation though. It's in the best interest of the purchaser & the recipient to buy the item closer to the time it's being given as a gift so they can get their money back if they need to. Stores are usually more understanding when people buy holiday gifts closer to the time of the gift giving, not three months out.

I already bought it and took delivery from Sony Style.

In view of all the problems reported on here I would open it up now, and use it. Have an early christmas present.

Agree with the above. Do not wait for xmas, open it now and use it and make sure it's working properly before you end up waiting another 2 months after xmas and ending up with a refurbished unit.

Most stores do take returns after Christmas without receipts, but you'll only get back whatever the going price at the time is.

I wouldn't wait, either.
