Question from a newbie... how do I see which books have a DRM and which dont?

You can use the Quality Check plugin for ePubs in your library. Or if you open the book in the calibre viewer it will tell you if it has DRM.

I have (I think) installed the QC plug in, but cant see it (an icon?) when I open Calibre.
What am I doing wrong please?

You have to customise the plugin to say what menus/toolbars you want it to appear on.

Go to preferences - toolbar - add the QC icon to whichever toolbar or menu suits you. Choose which toolbar or menu via the dropdown selection.
