Calibre converting file name to English?
Hi,
I am not quite sure I am posting this in the right group, but... I got my Kindle yesterday and started to play with it. I have a series of books in .txt in chinese. Whenever I transfer them to kindle through Calibre, it converts all of the document name into English character... Is there anyway that I can keep the Chinese name of this files? Thanks |

Possibly the filename in the metadata is in English?
To check if this is so, open book in calibre viewer and click the little blue i on the side. Helen |

When sending to devices, filenames are always converted to ascii, filename safe characters. I suggest converting your txt files to MOBI, then the Kindle will not read metadata from the filename.
