ICON Question

I notice in the upper left corner of the screen that I have 4 downward pointing
arrows with bars under them. What are these, how do I get rid of them, or
do I not need to delete them ?

Just being A/R about things ...

Sounds like the notification bar displaying downloads for app installs. You swipe down the bar to display the notification area, and then you can select 'clear'.
