360 Pocketbook 360 Firmware Failure

Hi everyone,
Just bought my first e-reader, a pocketbook 360. Thought I would update the firmware, so I bought a microSD card, copied the .bin file and followed the directions. I got the message that everything uploaded fine, but then when I restarted nothing happened. I left it plugged in for about an hour, then tried to turn it on, but again...nothing. Every once in a while when I try to hit the power button I get a black screen, but it doesn't boot. I also tried to reset everything by hitting the reset button next to the battery...but that doesn't work either. I thought about removing the battery, but its plugged in pretty good. Any suggestions??? It's a bit frustrating as I bought it for my upcoming trip...

hi, which version did you use? Do you have an old PB360 or a PB360+ (i.e. with WIFI)? They have very different firmware.

I am using a Pocketbook 360+. Still the same problem today. Every now and then the screen will flash to black. I tried to update to version 15.3.

Wait...I just checked the website and I now see that I used the Pocketbook 360 firmware update...So now, what should I do???

ok, so you have a PB360 Plus but put in the PB360 firmware? I would try and flash the 15.4 firmware version from the Ukranian pocketbook site, which you can download here. Hope it works, good luck!

Thanks for all the help, but I just tried flashing 15.4 but I'm still getting the same hiccup without any print on the page. I've tried contacting pocketbook today, but never got through...

do you have an sd card? If I were you, I would put the firmware on the card, open the battery compartment and give a hard reset, and try the update. But of course, so much better if you get through to PB. There are also very helpful sellers here, you may even try and send a private message to Dulin's Books.

Thanks Paola for all the advice. I just tried hard resetting from the back with the new firmware on the card and did every kind of permutation with the buttons but there's still no change. It still winks black at me from time to time though letting me know its still alive... I'll try getting through again to Pocketbook on Monday (tried three times since Thursday through email and once on Friday by phone...) I didn't buy my device from Dulin's Books, does that matter???

well, if you had bought it from him he would sure have answered your qeuries, but even if you haven't, he is so nice that it is worth a try

Is this still an issue all these months later? Any resolution? I am having the EXACT same trouble. The folks at PB have answered my email and say they are working on a solution... meanwhile, I'm trying to get my computer to see it... so far, I'm learning a lot of linux.
