updating to a larger sdcard for CM7
Currently, I am using a Sandisk class 2 microsd card with my nookcolor. I know that people have recommended Class 4 or 6, but really, I haven't had any complaints with significant lags etc. I was on Amazon today and saw that they had a Sandisk 16 gig class 2 card for about 14 bucks. I'm tempted to copy my card over to it and of course increase the partition size. Are there any opinions on this? The price sure seems right...

That will work fine. You'll use whatever imaging program you used to make the card to save it as an image, then write that image to the new card. Then, you use a program like EASEUS Partition Manager to extend the /sdcard partition to take up any unallocated space.
btw, anyone recommending a class 6 card is clueless. Class 2, 4, and unclassed SanDisks all work about equally well, but while some people report their particular class 6 card working decently, no class 6 has benchmarked nearly as high as the above mentioned SanDisks. The relevant stat is 4kb random writes, which are not measured by class ratings, but do tend to suffer in higher class cards. |
