MobileTechReivew reviews Sony TRS-T1
Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1 Video Review, Full-Featured E-Ink eReader
Includes an extensive video review, 'full text' to follow. They also show the library workflow, which launches the 'mobile', more stripped down Overdrive web site. They said it (still) doesn't support B&N DRM (wonder if/how they verified this?). Most unfortunate if true. Guess they don't want to peel off B&N customers... Also it doesn't look there is support for hyphenation which (along with B&N DRM support) is supported in the recent versions of Adobe RMSDK. Some might consider that a blessing but they might have made it an option (there don't seem to be line spacing or justification options either, but there are options for just about everything else). [sorry for the typos in the thread topic..] Last edited by tomsem; 10-06-2011 at 02:22 PM. |

A very good video. Thanks for posting the link.
Warning -- it takes 30 minutes to watch - and it's worth it. |

Yep Lisa's reviews are always good and very thorough. It convinced me that I want a new black shiny one.

Good review. Too bad the T1 doesn't have tap turn, wonder why that is.

Her interviews are the best and most comprehensive I've seen on the internet. It shows that she actually familiarises herself with the products beforehand, expands on everything there is to know about the product (my favourite aspect), but also knows which areas to stress on.

I think its because of the way Sony lets you take notes and highlight. One tap to highlight a word and look it up, 2 taps and drag to highlight passages. Quite useful and far simpler than the Kobo Touch for example.

Fayth, they actually changed this on the T1, and because of the way it works now, I have to agree with owly, not sure they can't put an option for tap to turn pages instead of swipe.
Now, you have to "long press" on a word you instantly see the dictionary definition on the bottom of the screen, and you popups with options for Highlight, Note, Search, Wikipedia, Google. |

I just watched the Lisa's video review of the T1. Very nicely done. Makes the T1 look very desirable.
