Are you getting a new kindle?
I am personally underwhelmed by the new offerings. Was never going to be interested in the fire since my eyes prefer e-ink. Have no use for the keyboardless non-touch model and am not thrilled about the touch models bezel color and lack of page buttons. How about you?

Yeah, I'm not into the touch screen or tablet either. It's just not my thing. I love my K3 and will stick with it.

I might be tempted to go to a 3g/wifi DXG touch if Amazon releases one in the near future. For now, my wife is happy with her K3 3g/wifi and I'm happy with my 3g DXG. We both have iPhones so the video/music thing on the Fire does not do anything for us.
Cheers, Tom |

Probably...not sure if $79 KSO or $99 Keyboard (K3). I'm still on a K1, so K3 would still be "new" to me.

I'm getting the K4 non-touch and the KFire. Your poll should have option for multiple Ks as many have posted they are getting multiple models.

Not compelling enough for me to switch from my k3.
I wanted either much smaller and lighter touch unit, or a larger 7" screen. The touch is smaller and lighter, but not by a whole lot. I might cave and get one anyway, depending on how much I can sell the k3 for. |

i have no need or urge to buy malibu stacy with a new hat when my current malibu stacy works just fine.
i guess the recession is over, theres plenty of people ready to toss their "old" unnecessary equipment in the trash to buy the new unnecessary equipment ![]() |

I think it has to do with the yearly cycle Apple has been promoting (and indeed, all smartphone companies).
Get a new device every year! It seems like all TV advertising is either pitching smartphones, or car commericals (some of which now feature people talking about their cars on a smartphones) |

i think i read someone mention in this forum that amazon plans to release an updated tablet in Q1 of 2012.
i don't really see the need for a new kindle ereader if it still has the same pearl technology. |

I like the keyboard and page turn buttons on my K3's. Not getting any of the new ones. Though I do like the $79 one, with its page turn buttons on the side. The smaller light weight feature would definitely have me wanting one. Except I already have a smaller, lighter Jetbook, so no need.

I bought my DXG less than a year ago, so I'll stick with that for a while. The Touch devices look interesting, but apparently we can't buy them in Canada.

No, I can't stand touch screens, the new silvery bezels are bound to be more distracting than the matte graphite ones on the K3, and the size reduction by dropping the keyboard isn't as much as one would expect.
Most importantly, the e-ink panel is exactly the same. The page turn buttons are convenient. Hold on to the side and twiddle thumb, thats it. Now I'd need to move my thumb every turn. The only improvement (IMO) is the aluminum back. The current rubbery one feels weird to hold when naked. I'm glad I got the Kindle 3, and I'm holding on to it. Besides, when I'm lying in bed with the Kindle propped on the lower part of my belly, my gut covers up just the keyboard portion, leaving the screen unobstructed. No keyboard = lower part of screen obstructed = unhappy (fat) customer ![]() Last edited by howyoudoin; 09-29-2011 at 07:33 AM. |

I'm buying none of Amazon's new offerings. But I'm not saying "Bye Amazon" either. So I can't vote I guess.
