Question Not showing on Desktop

My Kobo touch is plugged in and charging.

However it's not showing up on my (MacBook laptop) desktop, nor in my ADE library.

I've tried unplugging, turning off my Kobo, and then starting over again, with no success.

I've also tried resetting my Kobo, again with no success.

I even purchased a new USB cable in case there was a problem with the original one. Still no success.

Any suggestions?

It could be a wonky USB port on the Touch itself. Are you able to check it out on another computer, just to be sure it is not the USB port on your Mac Book? If it is the device, you will need to contact Kobo support for a return/replacement, unless you bought it locally and they will do an exchange.

You probably already know this, but I thought I'd suggest it just in case. What option are you choosing when you plug in your Kobo? If you don't choose an option, or choose the "cancel" option, the device isn't read by your computer. You have to choose the "connect" option before your computer will see it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Solved the problem on my own. I noticed that one of my applications wasn't showing up on my tool bar, about the same time I was having this problem. I used a little logic and rebooted the computer - everything was reset - my application reappeared and my Kobo showed up on the desktop.
