Request enTourage - not registering with adobe

I just purchased the enTourage Pocket edge and it won't let my daughter register via adobe. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have updated it to Froyo 2.2 but it still will not register for her.

Sometimes the Adobe servers have trouble. Are you receiving an error code?

I am receiving a Code 80 error.

Code 80 is an Adobe DRM Error: Network Connection Error. Please try again.

This is normally a timeout error from Adobe. Many people have experienced Adobe Server problems. I would try again later.

Yes I got it from Woot. I have waited and tried several times to register and it still gives me the code 80 error. This is so frustrating.

We did bypass the registration but how is she going to be able to watch videos from youtube?

By using the youtube app - see the thread further down concerning this.

The only thing registering with adobe does is to allow you to view adobe DRMd books on the e-ink reader. If you don't have such books then it doesn't matter because there are enough non DRM books available.

The only case where it might apply is if you want to read some text book as many of them come with DRM.

Even if you can't get the Register function to work, you can 'authorize' Edge with an authorized instance of Adobe Digital Editions, and then you can open any DRM ebooks that are linked to the same Adobe account (whether sideloaded with ADE or not). At least that worked for me (after getting 'error 80).

Except that you don't need ADE at all read DRMed ebooks from B&N with the Reader app. When you open it will prompt for "username" and "password"—these are the name and number on the credit card associated with your B&N account at the time you downloaded the book.

You can download the App as described above or you can go directly to YouTube using either the Miren or xScope browser and the videos will play.

You can also use FREEdi YouTube Downloader free from Amazon to download, save, and play YouTube videos as an alternative.

i got 3 of them from Woot. and I cant pass through registration point 3rd day...
It gives me error 80 and now it wont even turn off. i am stack on this page and it wont listen to my pen...

for someones like me: please read directions--> use USB cord to connect it with your computer and leave it overnight to charge your item!!!
also, if you have issues using a pen to manage account to turn if off, just pull the "turn off" button and hold it until it turn off itself.

Only problem with that is the PE doesn't charge via the USB cable you have to use the mains charger. You also need to be careful to plug the charging plog into the DC input socket and not the headphone/mic socket as many people have done and then wondered why their unit didn't charge.
