Error communicating with Device
After upgrading to 0.8.8 Caliber sends an error message when I'm trying to connect my Kindle DX. My operating system is Windows XP. This is the error message

This has nothing to do with the calibre update. Either there are too many files in the root of K:\ or you need to run a disk check on it.

The problem was the file 'driveinfo.calibre' was corrupted somehow.
I did run a disk check on k: (chkdsk k:/r). I restarted the Kindle, restarted Calibre and Calibre was able to access the Kindle. Thanks for your assistance |

Hi,
just wanted to say that the exact same thing happened to me. Ran a checkdisk and it worked. Maybe there's something that corrupts this file... |
