Amazon's Kindle support people are extremely helpful over the phone. I've spoken to them many times over the years.

Me too. I haven't needed to speak with them more than a couple of times, but when I have, they are invariabely helpful.
I also like the fact that you can request them to phone you, rather than you having to phone them. That can save a lot of money on a transatlantic call. Mike |

Yes, Amazon's customer service department is one of the best I've interacted with. This is something B&N really needs to work on. I actually bought a nook first, but after a REALLY bad experience with them, I decided to go with a kindle instead(even though I really wanted library access). I'm so glad I went with the kindle because I actually like the design better, and now I have library access...ahhh, all is right with the world.

![]() I also love that when you request to speak to them on the phone, you can choose the time to be contacted. It came in very handy when I was checking on an exchange and needed a few extra minutes to find my first Kindle's serial number. |

Yes. Make sure you call kindle support, not amazon support.
The ones I've spoken to appear to be based in the U.S (where I am). As opposed to India or wherever. |

I've used kindle support. Had them call me, in the middle of the night, and they were very helpful. I had no problems understanding them, and they gave very clear directions of what to expect regarding what they would do, and what I needed to do in return. I was impressed.
