Files not moving to SD card - ?
Hi - I'm a new poster, another of the horde of recent Woot Pocket eDGe purchasers.
I've upgraded to ermine and loaded some books via Adobe Digital Edition from my PC. Today the PNY 8GB Class 10 microSD card I ordered arrived, so I inserted it. It is recognized, and I was able to create a couple of new directories on it. My problem is: I have not been able to move any files to it. I tried copy/paste of an .adk from my download directory, but copy failed. I tried telling the Library app to move all data to the SD card - it gave me the expected warnings and did a reboot, but the files are still in the internal memory. I deleted the empty directories I had created on the card and tried the Library move again - still failed. Am I missing something here? |

![]() Now the question is - have you read the PE manual section on moving storage to the micro SD card? You also need to be aware that the external SD card is called extsdcard and the internal memory is called sdcard, don't get them mixed up. |

Yes, I did and am aware of the names. Which is why when I did some more exploring today I was really confused to find the following:
I unmounted the 8gb card and mounted it on my Windows PC (having obtained a USB converter for it) and found that the card DOES contain all of the Library contents! However, when I added it back into the PE and browsed, the PE is calling it "/sdcard" and still tells me that "/extsdcard" is empty. I also went into the terminal emulator (I'm a Unix sysadmin) and looked around - /sdcard is a pointer to /mnt/sdcard and /extsdcard is a pointer to /mnt/extsdcard. So for whatever reason "extsdcard" is NOT my add-in microSD card - "sdcard' IS. Thus I did accomplish what I wanted to do (move the Library to the card) but didn't realize it because the directory name was not what I had been led to expect it would be by what I read here previously. |

Don't think from what you said these are the problem but I have found two quirks on my PE:
1. When you remove card, copy stuff to it and put it back in you will have to reboot to get them to show up. Might be what you need to do if you haven't. Also try reset if you haven't. 2. I can't cut and paste from card to unit, only copy and paste, then delete the originals. |
