Help with e-ink reader

I was playing around in a pdf on the reader and the top half of the reader stays blank. I dont know what is wrong.

I do have 2.2 installed, and I did the whole root thing. I have titanium backup. Is there a way to get the reader back to working full screen?

This may be really silly, but have you refreshed the screen? Have you tried rebooting? A different document?

I did try different documents, and refreshing the page. I hit the rest button, idk if I am supposed to hold it down or not. If I flip the orientation, the same side of the reader still shows (which is the opposite side of the document). When it refreshes sometimes it shows where I was supposed to be writing. It is very strange. I just got it, and wondering if I need to ask Woot to replace it or refund me...

That does sound suspect. You used a paperclip in the reset hole, right? Push it in gently but firmly. I think I remember that you meet resistance and then it gives a bit and the unit will restart(?).

You might try powering off and leaving it charging overnight. Sometimes that helps.

Why did you root your PE? Most problems people are having with the PE are caused by two interrelated things - rooting when it isn't necessary and an obsession with the market. /rant off.

The next thing you have to do is to revert to dingo - 1.6 - there are several threads about that on the forum. If after reverting everything is working as it should then your unit is most probably OK. Then you can re-upgrade to ermine and just use it as it is to see if everything works and keeps on working.

If on the other hand reverting does not clear up the problem then you have a defective unit so change it under guarantee assuming you have one.

The overnight charge didnt work. I did try recalibrating, I am about to put Dingo back on in a few minutes. I only rooted because Titanium Backup wanted me to do it and so many of the directions here on the forum talk about using z4root as a step to get gapps to work.

Does an EPUB open full screen? The user manual is on the PE; select Help, eDGe User Manual.

Its is on Dingo and still the same problem.

I can open an EPUB, but I can only see the bottom half. I can open the user's guide, but doesnt change how much I can see.

Woot said they used up all their return devices, so I might have to get a refund rather than a working PE.
