PRS-350 Can someone tell me what is wrong with my ereader?

My ereader has 2 problems. One is that it will not turn on. When I turn it on the red light on the top comes on for a second but than nothing happens. I charged it up last night so I know the battery is charged. Is there anything I can do like reset the device to get it to turn on? And I think something is wrong with the screen. There are some black lines on the screen that make a square shape on one side of the screen (the upper right side). I can't post a pic but the lines stay on the screen when it is both on and off. Can this be a brooken screen or something else? And will Sony replace it if it is a brooken screen? I have the extended 2 year accedent warrenty on it.

It sounds like a broken screen. Without a pic it's impossible to be certain. If the screen is indeed broken, Sony will most likely treat it as user damage.

1) I would try a hard reset. But EVERYTHING on your reader will be deleted!

2) Lines: damaged screen, I guess... But try a hard reset first before contact Sony.

You really need to upload a photograph so that we can see what the screen looks like.

Exactly the same thing is wrong with mine, with the right square corner missing and the lines staying there when it is switched off, but mine still turns on, do you really think sony will blame me for this and not repair it or replace it?

Kayz, based on your description, your screen is broken. It is impossible to say for sure without a picture.

You can try calling Sony for repair, but they have been unsympathetic to owners with broken screens.

I bought the accedent replacement warrenty when I bought the ereader at the sony store. I called the number on the warenty and told them the screen was brooken. They told me to send the ereader in to them and they would either send me a new one or send me a check for my purchase price. They ended up sending me a check for the purchase price ($150). So for me it all worked out in the end, but I am not sure if sony will help if you don't have the warrenty. I have read a few stories on here about brooken screens and expensive repairs which is why I bought the warrenty in the first place (and they tried to sell me it at the store too). Good luck getting yours fixed. I think (from other posts on here this is) that sony will fix it but it will cost you a lot.
