Synopsis
1873...A landslide at a diamond mine in Africa leaves a British army major crippled. He holds a young lieutenant responsible and wants him court-martialed. A soldier is killed when the army try to arrest the lieutenant on his wedding day in England. But he escapes and so begins a ruthless worldwide manhunt, throughout the U.S. Canada and Australia until eventually the hunted becomes the hunter.

Oh, good! That IS a surprise. Do you know that from downloading or is there a way to tell from looking at it on the website? I didn't know they had any DRM free either.

I know it is DRM-free because I downloaded it. I don't know of any way to tell whether it is DRM-free from the website.

It is also free at Smashwords. Just finished reading it yesterday and a couple of days before, I finished reading his free ebook Blackbird. Both were excellent, well-written stories. I liked them enough that I bought, at $3.99 each, the other books he has written that are available at Smashwords.

Blackbird is no longer free, but I'll definitely give Redcoat a try. It's a bit out of my normal fare, but I really like historical mysteries, so historical fiction sometimes works for me too, and free is good. And if the author has a number of other e-books available at reasonable prices, all the more reason to give a try. (I HATE it when one e-book by an author or in a series is free/discounted, but then the rest - usually mostly backlist - are really pricey...)
