PDF-splitter?

Anyone know of a pdf program than can extract parts of the pdf and save them as a seperate file? For example if I only want a 2 page artice from a 200 page book.

pdftk will do that. It's a command-line program, but you might be able to find a GUI for it.

PDFill Tools has an easy user interface and merges, splits, extracts, watermarks, etc. and is free.

It needs, and also automatically installs, GhostScript (Lite).

When you install it, it also installs an evaluation copy of PDFill Editor which does all of the above and a whole lot more. But the evaluation copy puts an obnoxius watermark in the center of each page until you buy it. Don't know why they bother including it when the PDFill Tools software is free, does what you want, and does not add a watermark.

Yes, but it would be a bit of a faff. The steps would be:

1. Make a single-page PDF to be the new cover
2. Extract pages 2-N of the original (where N is the last page)
3. Merge the PDFs from steps 1 and 2 into a single PDF

Thanks. I'll have to give it a try unless I can find something simpler. I really hate the generic cover pages on some of my e-books and want to change them.

Another option would be to try opening them in LibreOffice. It's PDF editing capability is limited, but might be good enough if all you want to do is change the cover page.
