Pocket Edge Problems

Hi,

I was just given a new Pocket Edge a few days ago and I'm having several problems with it already...

-hotmail does not load
-youtube videos do not work
-several other websites never load at all

I tried to download apps for amazon and kindle and they do not work.. amazon does not recognize my device..?

I tried to open a nook book on the reader. I was instructed to enter my barnes and noble username and password and every time it said the information was incorrect...

I've been messing with this thing all morning and I'm getting frustrated. I'm tempted to just return it.. I thought it would be a nice gadget to use for school, but honestly, I'm afraid this thing will break and I'll lose important info..

Any advice or info will be appreciated. thanks.

Also, do apps usually appear on the main screen after downloaded? I can't find my amazon app anywhere other than storage > downloads

They show up in the menu that comes up when you hit the 'x' on the main menu.

I'm afraid this thing will break and I'll lose important info..

Back up everything to dropbox or hook it up to your home network so the files it uses aren't on the device.

If they don't work from your browser then scan this forum for one of the many youtube video posts

You'd need to give us examples of non-loading websites. Some block mobile connections because they want you to buy their site app, but otherwise it shouldn't happen too often.

Also, are you running ermine or dingo?

Have you upgraded the unit?

This might help your problems, though some have other problems with the upgrade.

Others can help you here much better than I can so if you have some time to wait for posts you should be able to get it to do what you want.

Post the version of firmware that you have, you can find it in the settings.

In the apps there is a "tube" app you might try for youtube. I am not sure you can use it through a browser.

You might try a different browser for your internet problems.

One important point you should know if you do not, the manufacturer is out of business so there will be no more of the units available. This board is the only service you will get free. Entourage did archive their forum before the closed and it is to be found up in the stickies.

Trust you come to a good decision as to whether to keep it or not. It is a great product but does have some negatives - as do many of the tablet machines on the market.

To open B&N books on the e-ink use the First and Last Name from the Credit Card used to purchase the book for the Username and the Credit Card # for the Password.

Hi All,

I have been roaming around the threads looking for help. The closest I found was info warning me not to reset

I have been having the Hibernate freeze problem. Yesterday when I used the power button, NOT reset, the little PE weirded out on me. It started, got to the final button on the tablet, then started again.

I am using the Ermine platform with the very last update that the Entourage folks had before they vamoosed. I also transferred all control to the SD card, so as far as I know, there is nothing running from the internal memory

After the weirdness stopped and I got a regular screen, all of my contacts were gone. I have tried to import them from the SD card, but get the message that no vCard file was found.

Any suggestions on reconvering my data. Thank GOOODNESS I never threw out my old day runner printout that I originally entered information from.

Again, thanks all for this forum. I would love to keep this puppy alive for the potential 4 years the battery is supposed to work ..
