I don't understand what it means by free pre-order when I try to select it I get asked to choose my credit card details why ? usually when I select a free book I do not get asked for this. So is it really free or am I going to be charged something when it is released ?

It will be free, but for some reason, Amazon needs a credit card on file if you pre-order, even if it's for a free book.
