Wordplayer v3 on HTC sensation

Hello,

On my shiny new HTC Sensation Z710e (running Android version 2.3.3 and HTC sense version 3.0) I can’t get Wordplayer v3 to fill the full height and width of the screen in portrait or landscape format. In ‘settings’, ‘full screen’ is ticked. Is this not possible for the Sensation?

FBreader does use the whole screen; but doesn't seem to be able to speak text aloud. So I'd prefer WordPlayer.

Can anyone help?

Martin

I don't use wordplayer so can't say if this will work but it should have an option for margins set them to 0.
You can also try coolreader app it has text to voice

I hope Martin is luckier than me: I had to uninstall Cool Reader because it had exactly the same problem on the HTC Sensation.

Have you tried Moon+ Pro? You can try the free version and see if it looks good on your HTC sense. If it does I do recommend Moon+ Pro ($5) it has the best TTS on the market.

I tried Wordplayer first because it was free but it is no where near as nice as Moon+. Note the audio does sound the same since they both use Androids TTS engine. It's just the controls and text highlighting of Moon make it much easier to use.

The Sensation has one of the new qHD screens at 540x960 rather than the older 480x800. This is likely why you're not seeing the app scale to full screen. You can try using the Spare Parts Compatibility Mode setting like tablet users to force older apps into full screen (see here), but that might have other consequences. It can't hurt to try, though. Worst case, it force closes and you have to go back to running it not-quite-fullscreen.
