Help 3 hour old iLiad froze and won't reset!
I got my new iLiad this morning and set it on the charger for
three hours. I created an Account with irex and downloaded and installed the 2.11 upgrade and manuals I was browsing through the device manager and suddenly the iLiad froze solid... No sound, no reaction to stylus or buttons and worse of all it refuses to reset! Help.... Jerry |

Possibly a low battery. Probably best to charge until the light goes out before using it seriously.

Yes, that can be confusing (It happeded to me too): If you press the reset button, the device isn't restarted and the screen isn't blanked. It looks as if nothing happened.
You can just switch it back on, and everything will work again (normally). |

I also dscovered the reset-doesn't-clear-the-screen thing since installing 2.11 because I seem to be getting random lock-ups that I never had on 2.10. I can't catagorically say that 2.11 is the problem, but I don't remember changing anything else.

This reset-doesn't-clear-the-screen isn't a bug, it's a feature. This is a proof that iLiad's screen is a real e-ink screen. A TFT screen would go blank without power.

Indeed, and once I put my brain in gear I realised that, but after 20-some years of working with computing devices where reset or power off means no display, it took a moment to realise that the reset might have worked even though the display was still there.
