Nook color or Pocketbook 701 IQ white?

I have never owned an e-reader and can't afford more then 1 but, have researched a bit on certain ones way beyond this form. Is it really true the 701 IQ doesn't get nook mags and products? I haven't found anything in these forms on the pocketbook 701 IQ white NOT BLACK. I DON'T READ books a ton and defiantly want decent internet service on my e-reader among other things. Is the cover on the Pocketbook the one it comes with not so great? Is scotch the only company that really has a dust free and glare less screen protector for the pocketbook? I found 1 there at about 31$ and I'd have to cut it to size. A little pricey if you ask me. Library loan which they both have supposedly is important to me. Is either one have it better with that? Can anyone tell me why I'd want 1 more then the other or not, besides price? I say the white pocketbook 701 cause I know a 701 IQ user who knows the white ones processor is the most up to date. Who happens to be a well respected US librarian. Oh, and the 701 IQ boasts about books in tons of languages. I defiantly don't need that, just english. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I was considering the pocketbook 701 and finally found one. Ok reader, but I purchased a nook color instead, and I'm running android from an sd card. Really glad I bought it and having a tablet to play with also. Great to read on--well known for their color screen which is considerably better than the 701. Have you tried the nook touch (e-ink)? I find reading books better with e -ink----color isn't bad for a couple of hours, but could read for a much longer period with e-ink. Both readers are awful with pdf files, but you can add ezPdf reader to the color nook, and it works well. Nook touch doesn't really have a good web browser unless rooted. Have you seen the review of all the readers at e book reader? Good reviews. You can purchase refurbished color nooks for about the same price as the 701. I don't know if you can get nook products on your 701, but would think you could because of the android nook reader app you could install. You can go to the pocketbook store on the internet to investigate what offerings they have. Not really impressive, and generally overpriced. Their free books can be download from most providers. With 7 inch screens you will have to scroll to be able to read the magazine with the pdf readers. Nook color has their own magazine reader, but I'm not really very fond of it. Works, but easier to read a magazine from a newsstand. I would suggest trying to read a magazine on the nook color at Barnes and Noble, or Best Buy or etc. They have an article view that is rather cool, but will not see most pictures.

Yea, I don't have/never had ANY e-reader yet. I was/am deciding between the two e-readers mentioned above. I read the other reviews but, e-reader technology lately has been changing nearly overnight and ALL THE OTHer posts are old and many outdated. And no one compared the white Pocketbook IQ with the nook color. And some of the reviews aren't for the pocketbook IQ specifically and one is in a language (I think Russian) that I don't know. To my knowledge refurbished color nooks can't get extended warranties which I really want/ need value is more imp. to me then savings unless the savings is huge. Yes this savings could be huge that's why I asked about quality. And to be honest right now I have the nook color at 334$ w/out tax and the white pocketbook IQ 701 at 246$ These are all both with it's required minimum accessories and the color nook with a 25$ discount buying the (Barnes and Noble Membership card for 20$ a yr). I don't love that the IQ doesn't come with ANY warranty just a warranty discount CARD.
Timothywh- did you get the pocketbook 701 IQ and then return it for the nook color which you like better? Is that what you meant above in the start of your reply? Thanks for your reply- now I'll defiantly visit a Barnes and Noble and try the nook color out in the store. Your reply defiantly helped.
Can any other people reply?

Don't forget you can turn a Nook Color into a full-fledged Android tablet with the N2A micro SD card, which comes with lots of apps with many more available as free downloads.

I used a friends pocketbook for several hours. Nice little tablet, but nook is better.
Screen quality is MUCH better than Pocketbook. I have my nook being able to boot from an sd card allowing me to also have an android tablet which I like very much. I have been "playing" with the new Vizio tablet. It has an 8 inch screen as compared to the nook's 7 inch. Reading on the Vizio with the additional inch is surprisingly better than the nook. The nook's standard reader is probably a little better than the android nook reader, even though the android reader can read in landscape---a nice feature. I like several android reading apps as well or better than the nook's standard reader. Nook's pdf reader is really poor---get ezPdf reader from Barnes for a couple of dollars or you can get an android version in the market for the tab. As a tablet nook is not bad, especially with the beautiful screen. The Vizio is better since it is really a true tab..
I would highly suggest to spend some time with the nook. Borrow one from someone if possible. Seeing the demo at Barnes really does not show how much YOU will like it. You would not be making a mistake buying the nook.
On the other hand, Walmart has the Vizio tab. They have a 15 day return policy on tabs. Try it AFTER the nook, and using the nook android app that comes on the tablet. You probably will like the barnes nook reading better. Try using some reading apps on the Vizio like Fbreader, cool reader, etc. Search readers in the market---most are free. Make sure you do not get one you have to purchase. Then make a decision
Also, the Vizio has a tv, etc. controller built in. Big selling point---really only a basic controller---no big deal. Really like the GPS on the Vizio though.
Vizio is aimed at "common folks" so is really easy to learn. The more expensive tabs have better everything, but expensive. I really don't like the 10 inch for reading except for magazines--which are wonderful. Tech. has really passed the pocketbook tab. Do you live in the US? The prices you mention seem high.
I guess you can tell, I would buy the Vizio tab instead of the Nook. The Vizio, s less than $300. Really hard to decide---glad I could add more confusion. Good luck!
