Automatic RSS download and mailing on an Ubuntu Server
Hi,
first thanks for a great programme! I have installed calibre on an ubuntu server. I can run it over ssh without any problem and do whatever I need. I would like though to leave it running on the server, so that it can download daily my subscribed RSS feeds and mail them to my kindle. This does not seem to be possible. Every time I log out of an ssh session calibre shuts down (despite the command calibre &). Calibre-server does not seem to download any of my subscribed RSS feeds nor mail them. I understand that I could write a bash script using ebook-convert and calibre-smtp for each feed, but I was wondering if there is an easier way. Most programs I know keep running, if invoked with &, even if I log out of the ssh session that started them. TIA Giulio |
