Book NOT in server???

Very weird. I have Sarah's Key in my Calibre library but can't find it using the server.

I've tried searching for Sarah's Key; rosnay; de Rosnay; Tatiana; and several other combinations.

It just won't show up!

Another book by that author, A Secret Kept does show using all these search terms.

Why doesn't this work?

The book is in my library in epub and mobi formats. It's really there. I can view it. But only from Calibre itself and not remotely via the Calibre server.

Do you have any search restrictions active in the server?

Thanks for the two feedbacks.

I DO seem to have a restriction (format:epub and format:mobi) but...
1. I don't think that should matter since the book in question, Sarah's Key, is/was in both formats.
2. I removed one of the formats (epub) and the book STILL doesn't show on the server.
3. I have no idea how that restriction got there. I didn't mean for it to be there.
4. Are the restrictions positive (ONLY show books that match) or negative (DO NOT show books that match)?
5. How do I get rid of the restriction? There doesn't seem to be a way to remove it.
6. And finally, why doesn't the book show on the server???

Thanks in advance.

From that search restriction, in case 1 the book ought to have shown, in case 2 it shouldn't. That search matches only books that have both ePub and MOBI formats.

The server shows only books that match the search restriction. It works the same way as setting a restriction on the library. Try it there, if the book shows, it'll show on the server.

5. How do I get rid of the restriction? There doesn't seem to be a way to remove it.
6. And finally, why doesn't the book show on the server???[/QUOTE]
We can't tell why the book doesn't show from here, the details are a little too scant. Are you sure the book originally had both ePub and MOBI formats, and was your search restriction exactly
Code:
format:epub and format:mobi
as shown above?
You can remove the server search restriction via preferences->sharing via network.

If he had two separate entries for the book, one with EPUB format and one MOBI, it wouldn't have shown in either case. The restriction requires both formats to be in the same book record.

Right. I probably should have mentioned that I was implicitly assuming that was the case.

OK, problem solved.

I feel pretty stupid, but I had two Calibre servers running. One was just for testing.

I was trying to find the book on the wrong server!

Thanks for all your input.
