Question Pulling covers from other sources?

Hi, all;

I recently pulled a bunch of out of print books written by H. Beam Piper from Project Gutenberg. About half don't have covers available from Amazon, Google, or Open Library. However, I have found copies of the covers elsewhere. Is there some way to add those repositories so I don't have to download individual ones, then add them manually? Say, through some sort of plug-in?

TIA

No reason to bump. No one that had viewed had a useful (to you) answer.
Any Automatic way is going to get the wrong cover (I have the DT version, so I know what the automatic system tries to give and it is Wrong).

You can add any cover, from any source, BUT YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK

A plug-in might be possible, I'm not a developer so I can't answer with any more certainty than that.

Bumping the post won't help since you didn't specify any details of where folks could view "those repositories." Your post required potential developers to divine your thoughts and without even a hint of what sites you wanted covers downloaded from so no one could respond to your post.

I'll also comment that bumping after a week is reasonable, but in this forum, if no one answered in a week, it's because no one knows the answer or the original post didn't give enough information. The best thing to do in a case like that is to add a lot of information to the original post, not just "bump."

I use the 'Search the Internet' plug-in, and manually load from Goodreads. Could any of our awesome Calibre developers create a plug-in that adds Goodreads to the cover search list?

A Goodreads metadata plugin already exists. It is the primary plugin I use for tags. Check the Index of plugins sticky post for a list of all of the current optional plugins. Once you find a plugin you're interested in go to preferences - plugins - Get new plugins to install the plugin.
