Big Romance ebook sale!
Got an email about a big sale on romance ebooks at Copia. There are titles in every genre. Some books are even 50% off. Good time to fill up the e-reader with some summer romances! They even have some free ones still.
Check it out: http://www.thecopia.com/romance |

Why can't I have a look without having to register?
Very annoying. |

Meh.
Until Copia shows that the free books I "buy" will actually be downloadable, I'm not much interested in buying books that I actuall spend money on there. |

Did you try the four freebies recently posted about? If you got those, you are the first person I've heard about who did.

The Wheel Spins The House of Dr. Edwardes Mute Witness These were first offered two weeks ago, Copia's response to every inquiry is "we're working on it." Haven't heard of anyone who's been able to get these three books. |

I was able to download all of them. I read them on the Copia reader at work, and side-load them on to my nook for reading on the train. After you "buy" the free books on the website, you just sync your account on the reader and it should show up. It should also download to your computer as an epub. Also try going to Settings then Purchase History, and you can download again right to your computer. good luck!

I gave up as well. The Copia stuff just wasn't working at all, and I never got anything downloaded either.

I'll try that as well, but don't hold out much hope. My latest support ticket to them three days ago is still unanswered.
The baseball book I bought (for free) would never even show up in my library. I finally opened the app and downloaded it from there - now, it's in my library as a "bookmarked" book, which I could buy for $0.00 -- but no amount of clicking will get the purchase to complete, as apparently the original, aborted purchase is still stuck somewhere and blocking it. I would not risk even the 99 cents to try one of their books, at this point. Instead, I'll keep reporting the lower price to Amazon (and encourage all my readers to do the same), in hopes of getting it there. |

SUCCESS!
Finally, I've gotten the three elusive books from Copia: Wheel Spins, House of Dr. Edwardes, and Mute Witness.
Here's how I did it. First, I deactivated my account in the Settings section (you have to log in on the Web page to access the settings). Then I created a new account. Since I have not used Copia for anything but the freebies, there were no notes or other info to lose; if you have such info, it may be better to sign up for a new account with a different e-mail address instead of deactivating. (I had tried simply deleting the three books, planning on then re-buying them, but that option would not work.) OK, so then I found the three titles again, all still free, and rebought them with the new account, and used the "download now" button. Instead of going through the Copia application, I went back into settings, to the Purchase History section, where now I had a redownload option (not the "gift purchase" that showed previously). And then I downloaded them to ADE, completely bypassing the Copia software. Of course, I'd already bought one of the books elsewhere, and gotten the other two in Kindle version, but prying them loose from Copia had become a bit of an obsession--and now I've done it! |

What do you know. That worked. Copia CANNOT fix an existing library (I get the distinct impression that the site is run by a high school kid in his spare time, from the lack of responses and inability to fix existing libraries). But, they did manage to fix the problem with the books if purchased by new customers. So, just create a fake account and add the books there.
Still gives me absolutely no confidence in their ability to add a 99 cent book to my account properly, though (and even less than that, that if problems occur, that they will either fix it or refund my money so that I can try again). |

And thanks to pageturner for telling us about the settings--that was the key clue! |
