Hi,
I got my Pocketbook 902 almost one month ago. Then I left it alone after trying out for few days. Today, when I wanted to copy some ebooks into the 902, the 902's screen looked like alternate stripes, with inconsistent greys and black stripes. When I powered up, the on button, it's no longer the usual menu, some shades apparently missing. Some words especially in white doesn't appear. Anyone has this experience can give a big help? Should I return the 902 to Manufacturer? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It sounds like you have a broken screen.
You should send it back to your dealer but it may be for repair and not for replacement. Most probably the warranty doesn't cover a broken screen, but of course you can try this first. |

Strange. Just leaving it for a month, screen can turn problematic. Trying reset for few times. Didn't work. Thought battery wasn't full, changed, almost 6 straight hours, still didn't work. I did tweaking the configuration and that didn't help either. It would be costly for me to send all the way to America while knowing the device is made in China!

Can you take a picture of the screen?

I managed to solve the screen issue after reading some threads in this forum. Some called it ghosting or screen burning. I took out the battery and leave it for 1/2 an hour and put it back. Yup, the screen back to normal! It's alive again! I am a happy man. I also calibrated the screen. But what was the real problem?

I read the threads in some Kindle section. I simply searched under e-ink screen problem in google. It helps!

When you don't apply current to the screen, it should maintain the same image, but in time, if there is no current, it looks like the white and black capsules tend to mix, making the white and black into gray. In order to minimize energy consumption you only change, and therefore apply current to the pixels that need changing. So for example, if you have a black area next to a white area, and you keep it like that for a while, if you want to make both areas white, only the one that was black will be changed, meaning that the one that was white and turned gray will just remain gray next to the newly turned white one.
Maybe for you it was worse because you didn't use it for a while. |
