Problem with large book
I have problems with an e-book freezing my kindle occationally when turning a page or going to a page via the search (it is a kindle dx grey).

It is a very large (72 MB) ePub file converted using MobiPocket.
It is based on a html file that is 11,5 MB in size. It has many images linked to it. The largest image is 610 Kb and 600 x 600 px. This image displays without problems.
Mobipocket reader display only a few insignificant errors when done compiling.
The HTML code has been checked my an HTML validator, where I have eliminated all errors. There are some warnings (256) but, I think only minor.

What can produce this type of error, anyone has experience of a book this big?

Update
The problem seams to be with the code. I have tried to remove all the pictures and the error still presists. I have managed to recreate the error by searching a term then going to a place I know the problem will occur. The 11MB file compresses down to about 5MB in mobi when there is no pictures. I will try to use callibre instead for creating the ePub, to see if that will remove the freezes. The ePub displays nicely in Mobipocket reader with no problems.

The size of a Mobipocket book really shouldn't matter - only the current page is held in memory. It sounds as if there's an issue with the HTML code used to create the book.

Callibre made no difference.

The HTML code underneath will sometimes make the kindle freeze when browsing. It will freeze around the tag <h4>PROBLEM</h4>. If searching for Problem and going to the location the kindle will freeze. I can't see whats wrong with the code, but its prett certantly something with the tables, because removing them eliminates the freezing.

Found it! Mobi dosn't support a table inside a table. More info found here: http://www.mobipocket.com/dev/articl...ile=tables.htm

Man, i have used weeks on this!


Anyone who has converted a table inside a table to one table and making it look okay?

PS: also <thead> and <tbody> tags within table tags makes your kindle freeze.
