Installing apps on iRiver Story HD
Hi,
I just bought a Nook Touch and am thinking about returning it because of its poor (native) performance with pdf's (haven't yet tried third party Android pdf readers). I also like iRiver's ability to read djvu and other formats that Nook cannot. I would return my Nook and get a Story HD if I could "root" it (or if it wasn't necessary to root) and install third party (Android?) apps. Specifically Evernote and Springpad. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! |

Theoretically Story HD firmware is open source linux. I don't know is the source code is published yet, but as It will be, you can do whatever you want with it. Again, theoretically. But, If you really want to have third party apps - buy a tablet.

There's a lot of reasons why I don't want a full-fledged LCD tablet, but foremost is that I don't want a backlit screen, which is why I'm drawn to eInk. I'll see what I can do with my Nook over the next couple of weeks.
