PRS-650 order books by file size?

Is there any way to order the books on a Sony by the file size? I know you can order them by author, title, date, etc, but I want to do it by file size. Sometimes I have a short amount of time and I want to choose a short story or novella to read instead of a full size novel, and I'd love to order them by file size to assist with that.

Hi, GraceKrispy! Good question. I do not believe that you can sort by file size in the standard firmware. Maybe PRS+ has a feature like that? Here's what I would do. You can sort by file size within Sony Reader Library. I would connect my reader via USB. Then, using the Sony software, 1) create a new collection on your 650, 2) sort the Books category on your 650 by file size and 3) drag & drop however many books you want into your new collection.

Keep in mind that sometimes file size can be misleading. If you have books that have special formatting or embedded fonts or images, then they might actually be shorter reads than the file size indicates. But, it should be close enough to accomplish what you want. Hope that helps!

Thanks, bookworm_girl- that's what I was planning to do if I couldn't just sort by file size. I know sometimes it can be misleading, but at least it'll be closer to finding the shorter titles. Thanks for the response

If you are a Calibre user, there is a Count Pages plugin available which tries to assess the page count for each epub/mobi. I haven't tried it myself but over 2300 people have, so it is quite popular.

I don't know much about sort options, but I totally understand why you'd want the option. What I do is a make a collection with "quick reads". It can be short stories, essay collections or just very light reading. I often have something from that collections going parallell to a "heavier" read.
