My Nook (original) was acting up and when I tried to update my B&N content it gave me an 800 number to call.
The operator tried several things short of re-registering, which I did not want to do for fear of losing books in My Docs. She finally asked me what percent of memory I had used and I looked under settings and it said 77%. She suggested I archive most of my books in the B&N folder (I had over 270) to save space. I have archived 95% of the books and my Nook is acting better. But, I just went onto settings to check my memory and now it says 78%! What the heck is going on????? Marie |

Archiving NOOKbooks (on a NOOK 1st Edition, at least) doesn't remove the e-book files from the NOOK. It just removes the books from the "My B&N Library" listing.
You can delete them out of the 'my B&N downloads' folder by hooking your NOOK to your computer, except... all of the files are identified only by their ISBN or BNID numbers, so it's very difficult to figure out which ones to delete. It sounds like you've only got 15 or so left, so it might be easiest to delete all of them and then redownload all 15 or so that you've got on your NOOK. Note: if you're using a Mac, be sure to empty the trash after deleting the files, or all you've done is move them from the 'my B&N downloads' folder to the trash folder. This shouldn't be a problem with Windows. Last edited by Doug Pardee; 07-23-2011 at 09:27 AM. |

Wow, I never realized that archiving your book didn't really archive it. That is just nuts. B&N seemed to have missed a few really intuitive ideas with the Nook.

Doug, I found that if you double click on the cover image below the epub, you can figure out which book the isbn belongs to. |
