Cannot Move Document to Collection

After I send a document to my Kindle, when I attempt to move it to a collection, the Kindle locks up and does a complete restart. I can delete the document, but cannot move it to a collection without the Kindle freezing up and restarting.

With my last Kindle I had this problem. Amazon sent me a new one which did not solve the problem. It does not happen with books purchased from Amazon, just RTF files sent to the Kindle. There have been no changes made to the Kindle. It is just like it came from the factory. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem is or how to fix it?

Kindle doesn't recognise RTF files, so it won't let you put one in a collection. You'll have to convert it first.

Thank you very much for your response. Most of what I send to my Kindle are DOC files but occasionally apparently, an RTF file will slip in. I find it amazing that when I talked with the Kindle Customer Service about this problem that they didn't make that suggestion. They instantly assumed that it was a faulty Kindle and promptly sent me a new one which also had the same problem. This is strange. But I guess stranger things have happened. At any rate, thanks again.

Ah, if you're sending it via whispernet, it should be converted for you and no longer be a rtf file, so what I wrote may not apply. Only by sending it directly by wifi or usb should it still be a rtf file.

I sent the RTF file to my Kindle with convert in the subject line. When it gets to the Kindle I can open it and read it. When I try to put it in a collection, the Kindle freezes and in time restarts.
