How is the new nook's annotation feature?
I assume the newly introduced nook simple touch can highlight passages and take notes for annotation. But can you edit annotations on the devise? On kindle you need to export them on to PC to edit. I like to know how annotations can be edited on nook simple touch.

I just tried highlighting and making notes on my Nook STR then editing them, and it was easy.
That said, I can't be sure but I vaguely remember reading about how these annotations do not carry over to the PC/Mac after syncing. Supposedly, they remain visible on the device though. |

Annotation on the device is pretty good. It's easy to highlight and make notes, though I don't like that there are two ways to close the note entry pop-up without saving the note (and only one way to close & save). I always seem to hit the wrong button and lose my note. It's also easy enough to scroll through your highlights and notes for each book, a feature that never worked right on the original nook. (To find and review your notes: from inside the book tap the middle of the screen, choose "contents," then choose the notes & highlights tab.)
Ryvyan is right, thought, the notes don't sync anywhere. Perhaps that feature will be added later, but right now the notes are on the device only. Last edited by kezza; 07-16-2011 at 05:25 PM. |

I think 'on the device only' renders them nearly useless, but your mileage may vary. I don't highlight/annotate much in any case (a habit carried over from print books, which I'm loathe to 'desecrate').
