OMG! Faulkner's "Shall Not Perish"

I just read this short story this morning from the "Collected Stories" (recently available as an ebook)- http://www.amazon.com/Collected-Stor...660818&sr=8-12

I am totally blown away with his skill! I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that I've never read this story til now. It's definitely in my top 10 stories now!
Incredible skill in narration, story, emotion, poetic phrasing and human nature.

My one nit is the title. I thought it bad at first, but rethinking it, I can see how it applies to the story as a whole in multiple ways.

WOW!

Glad you liked it so much! I did my graduate thesis on Faulkner, so I am incredibly biased, but its nice to see others give him some much-deserved love every now and then!

Cool. As I said, being a short story lover I'm a bit embarrassed I've not read all of his work before.

So I decide to check some reviews of this story in particular and I guess no one likes it. Well they can just bite my shorts! Sentimental my ass! This story may be a bit sentimental, but damn the characters, the writing, the little details and the poetry are incredible. I suppose it's the same idjuts that don't like "The Road!"
