CM7 & mobile websites
I'm running CM7 from my SD card..... using Opera browser - I don't like how it automatically sends me to the mobile version of a website. Is this a setting I can change? For example, my library's overdrive site goes directly to the mobile version and on it there is not an option to revert to the full website, I'm stuck there. Can I change this?

I find going into the address bar and removing the '.m' portion of the address will take you to the full version.
Many things may look strange or not work, though. |

yes that works for many websites or choosing "full site" somewhere on the webpage but some sites don't give you that option. Going to Facebook thru Opera it takes you to its mobile site even if you delete the m from the address and then there is no option to go to desktop site like other mobile versions of Facebook (for example nook's native browser will let you choose the desktop site). In Opera I have the mobile setting set to off, for what that's worth.

What you need to do is change your User Agent so that sites see you as a PC rather than a phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1009719
Those are directions for Opera, but many browsers including CM7's included browser (Android Gingerbread stock) and DolphinHD include User Agent in their advanced settings. |
