English ebook library

Hi there!
Does anyone know if there are any british libraries you can join (in order to borrow ebooks) if you live elsewhere? And does it make any difference if you are a british citizen living abroad or if you're a foreigner?
We live in Sweden and would like to get our hands on some british authors in english.

Good to have your company, Zigs. Why not take a look at the Philadelphia Free Library? It's not free, in that you pay a small annual membership fee, but it's free in another important sense and that's the wide open welcome to ebook borrowers anywhere in the world. Luck and best wishes. Neil

Thanks but i'm not after books in english but a wider option of brittish authors. As far as i can see you have to have a librarycard in order to borrow books from the UK libraries. Any ideas?
