password req to root the edge

Can anyome help me root the edge. Every time I try to use the Z4root it requires that the debugger is on. When I try to turn the debugger on it asks for a [assword. I tried the sign on one but no go. Has anyone solved this problem?

are you running ermine or dingo(Android 2.2 or 1.6)? z4root only works(afaik) on android 2.2(ermine). In order to root 1.6(Dingo) you will need the debug password which I believe was posted in the old forums, I'll try to find the link...

I seem to recall the debug pw no longer worked by the later versions of dingo?

Thank you for your help. I have updated to ermine although the settings say I have dingo.!!
I found the password on the root video of the Android Police and it works. I have rooted with Z4root but now have a further problem. On the video he had a blank screen and I cannot find out how to het there.
By the way I am a visually impaired newbie and nay appear to be DUMB but I aim't
