Could everyone please test a site for me?

A new publishing service called Onswipe launched yesterday. It's designed to help websites publish content for tablets. Unfortunately, I don't think they're supporting Android tablets yet. Could everyone try this site on your Android device, please? You should see something similar to the screen shot below. touch.slate.com Let me know what it doesn't work on. Thanks. I tried it on my Transformer. Using the stock browser (also tried it in Dolphin HD) with the user agent set to either desktop or tablet I get redirected to the full site, set to phone I get sent to the mobile site.

Nate - on my ASUS Transformer - your touch.slate.com link takes me to the main Slate webpage - where there is a news story with a link to download the Android app - which I have successfully downloaded. I think it is the phone app - not the tablet app - it displays only in portrait mode & is very "clunky" to use.

On my Transformer with the stock browser I get what appears to be the regular home page. It displays just fine in landscape mode, and I don't see anything about an android app. But it does not have little pictures like in your screenshot. There's one large picture, a menu, and an ad. Then when I scroll up, I get more articles.

The link to the Android app in the article on the Slate home page announcing the iPad & Android apps goes to the iPad page. Last edited by poohbear_nc; 06-22-2011 at 08:21 PM. | |

Dolphin HD 4.5 on Android 2.0, set agent to desktop. Blank screen with one black dot in the upper left corner. Ditto for Skyfire set to desktop. Last edited by fjtorres; 06-22-2011 at 08:00 PM. |

Your link takes my Nook Color running CyanogenMod with the Mirin browser to the mobile version of the web site. There is a link on the mobile version that will load the full version of the web site, and that appears similar to your example.

I tried the files in Nook CM7 using opera and Firefox. They both went to the desktop page however the final rendering looked different on both. This page gave Opera a really hard time. =X= |
