essential apps
Hi. Can somebody help me find these so- called essential apps such as YouTube, Pandora, Google maps, Better Keyboard 8, and Jorte calendar? I would greatly appreciate it!

Ermine 1.01.001 from development thread has Google Maps and Youtube. If you search the forum for GPS you'll find how to install it (but never tried myself) and it might work with Maps.
I've been forbidden from posting Pandora, but search Internet for pandora.v1.4.apk - I know it works. Have no idea about the rest. Last edited by ptsenter; 07-15-2011 at 04:19 PM. |

I really love the Cozi organizer rather than Jorte. Much more user-friendly and you can sync easily with other devices. Just download from the Amazon Marketplace. For the keyboard, use the FlexT9 keyboard. Tap, trace, or speak what you want to enter. Voice recognition is supurb! Again, it is in the Amazon Marketplace.

Do you own an Android phone? If so, you can get Android market working and download them yourself.
If not, you can get most of the gapps (gmail, YouTube, and so on) through the procedures on the Ermine tweak thread. |

Does your "Tube" app not work? It came pre-installed. I don't know the difference, but Tube gets me plenty of YouTube videos . . . ?

The MS Bing application works and brings alternate maps, directions, image search, news, and movie listings. It's fast, too. Look for BlueGPS4Droid 1.22 at SourceForge to get a Bluetooth GPS working. Google maps does not cache a substantial amount of map data, so it is of limited use without a constant data connection. Dolphin Browser HD works well in landscape mode, but it's not the most stable browser I've ever seen. Apps2SD does not work for me. Grafitti Pro is handy if you've come from Palms, and it's G1, not the dreadful G2.
