PB360 - One Year Later

So, it was slightly over a year ago that I was introduced to the most marvelous Pocketbook PB360 - the "Mighty Mouse." I have loved it every one of the past 365+ days and I have never regretted getting it. That cover is simply awesome ... along with the many other neat things it can do!

So, to celebrate ... I got the PB360 Plus! Yeah, I knew I would. How could I resist a "new" and "improved" version?!? So, (1) when my sister told me she needed a new PB360 (she had broke the screen) and (2) when Pocketbook had that Memorial Day weekend sale ... I got two. One for her and one for me.

It's the same - but improved! Two things stick out: One, it is noticeably faster than the older version (more RAM, more CPU grunt power). And, two, as Justy had pointed out in her initial/first review of this Plus model, the wing buttons have a sweet spot where it is effortless to press them.

I had always used the wing buttons but now? It takes a mere flex of the thumb to press it. Very, very smooth.

Other than that, some cosmetic changes in the keyboard and menus. Still the same PB360 we all know and love. My sister and I agree ... as long as Pocketbook keeps the PB360 in it's present physical form (with the same multi-format capability), we'll never use anything else. The PB360 is IT.

But - I do have one question. I've never used a browser on an e-reader before. I can and have accessed my online Calibre library and have been able to download a book. However, the button pressing I must do to input that long address is ridiculous!

Does anyone know if the PB360+ has a book mark function to go straight to a web page or is there a way to put a link into a document somehow so that I can click on it to go to the web page? I've tried but I cannot figure out a way to easily get to a site. I can get into link mode, but when I press on the highighted link, all I get it "Link saved to file: system/links/catalog.html.url" (where catalog is the name of my link). Yes, there is a links folder under the systems folder and yes, there is an html there. But, I know that by looking on the PB36 via my PC. How do I get to that link from/on the PB30?

In short: Any ideas on easier web browsing other than typing in extremely long html addresses?

Don't get me wrong. With a 4GB SD card, I truly am not worried that I cannot get to the web to download more books. Heck, I've got over 200 books in my "To Be Read" file! I honestly don't care about the WiFi. But, it's like a sore tooth though, the fact I can't figure it out. Know what I mean?

All this rambling is to say that I continue on with my love of the PB360. Here's hoping the next year (more!) is as great as the first. Thanks, Pocketbook - for not mucking up the PB360!

Congratulations to your "New And Improved" (TM) Mighty Mouse.
I have had my PB360 for 18+ months now and I still love it. I still read books on it every single day. I have configured my Mighty Mouse exactly to my liking and apart from occasional font change I just use it to read day, after day, after day.
EDIT:
I have tried quite a few e-ink devices recently - not that I want to change, but I am curious and I got opportunity because people here know that I am an e-book enthusiast. I haven't found any e-ink device that would come close to software features of my Mighty Mouse. In other words, PocketBook got me addicted to format support and configuration features. Sigh ... ;-)
END OF EDIT

As for the PLUS model.
Resellers in USA are strictly forbidden to sell to us (Europeans), so that they do not compete with European distributor that sells PocketBooks for higher price. Except that our European distributor doesn't sell PocketBook 360° PLUS.
I am not going to import it from Ukraine. Sorry.
