Upgrading to Ermine will certainly help, though this still happens to a small degree. You can always touch the refresh button on the eInk screen to show the "invisible" characters, also.

Slow? Usually it's quite fast compared to the other ebook readers with this capability

I have recently had the effect where my very last stroke of a word might not be visible until I start a new word, but it's not slow for me.

Recalibrating your stylus may help getting a more efficient handwriting. It helped me create a more flowing rhythm. It also got better after upgrading to Ermine.
If you calibrate, be careful to place your stylus tip in the angle at which you usually write. If you calibrate applying the tip in a perpendicular way, but you write at a 45° angle, you will find an annoying displacement. So if you check this as well, the whole experience will get better. But let me say that I haven't seen any better device or faster device handling handwritten annotation. I don't find it slow at all. Good luck. |

On occasion I have seen that the last line segment drawn does not appear on screen after having picked up the pen. Putting it down to write again makes the last line appear. Odd. However writing is not slow.
Is the shape tool on, too? That shape and line recognition makes simple writing very slow. |

Just pointing out that although the subject line says "slow", mike's message doesn't actually complain about slow writing. Could it be he's experiencing the same thing ken and I are, but just calling it "slow" thinking that the machine is slow to respond when really, for whatever reason, it's just waiting for you to start the next stroke?

Something that improves my writing speed/ease is to uncheck the shape maker option.

Thx guys for the replies. Ya thts my bad, like sarah mentioned I din mean the device is slow. Its the invisible problem I meant. This is a good device atleast compared to my sony prs 900. I already tried upgrading to Ermine but my device wud not wake up from suspend mode unless I pull out thr battery. I noticed few other ppl also had the same issue. Any fix for this issue? Thx.
