spare battery availability

Does anyone have an update on when the spare battery will be available. Going on a trip soon and would like an extra one. Is there anyone else who might be manufacturing these or another source.

I know it would possibly void any warranty on the Edge if one were to find a source other than Entourage but I donot understand why it is taking so long to manufacture a repalcement.

thanks

Good question. They were supposed to be back in stock at least 2 weeks ago...

It could be they've had to switch suppliers because of quality control issues. Note that the battery is specifically molded to the eDGe case, so you can't get one anywhere else, and if they've had to switch suppliers, the new supplier would have to get their own mold(s) custom fabricated first before they can start producing batteries.

now I thought I was reading somewhere that the battery for the eDGe is out of production. Does that mean I can't get one anymore? Suppose I do get one, can I put it in the closet for a while and say get it out after maybe a year?
I don't have any problems yet, but it could be handy to get a spare battery somewhere on a shelve.

I would rather use it just sometimes, batteries fear time passing. I did buy a spare and I'm happy with it.

I don't see why you couldn't store one away for future use. (Might want to test it when you first get it to make sure you got a working one, though.)

It seems likely they are not in production anymore, but they were still for sale recently at the EU entourage site, and you might be able to find them on eBay.

You can't. The battery isn't designed to be replaced by the user.

Hello, is it possible to have an external battery for PE? I am worrying about running out of battery when I take a long international flight.

I wonder if something like this Mili Power Crystal External Power for Digital Devices w/6 Tips, Black HB-A10-BC (http://www.cyberguys.com/product-det...CH#page=page-1) would work? Unless the PE can be powered through its mini-USB port I don't think this is exactly right, but the idea seems good to me.

Haven't the airlines gotten around to providing power outlets yet??

If I see something that will work for sure, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, happy travelling!

Hello again, Jesseh,

I was curious so I checked, and many flights do have power outlets for at least some of their customers. You should be able to look up your aircraft on www.seatguru.com to find out if you are among the lucky ones.
