some gmail weirdness.

I have my sync going for calender, etc., but now I get two notifications for every email. I seem to have 2 inboxes.

How can I delete one?

PE running Ermine.

Got the same problem on my PE. I noticed that after the Ermine upgrade I have both "email" and "Froyo email" apps on the device. I wonder if both app are still working in the background, which will explain the duplicate notifications.

I noticed that as well. I wonder if it's safe to delete one of them?

You should probably delete your gmail account from the "email" app, and just use in on Froyo email.

Delete the account from the (paleo-)email app, yeah, but he might have been asking about deleting the whole app, which would be a good idea, except last I checked (can't re-check at the moment), it couldn't be deleted. Ditto for the other pre-installed apps, which is annoying. Another reason to rooooooooooooooooooooooot.

Thanks Dr T and Gecko. I did mean deleting the entire app, but following Dr T's suggestion I removed my accounts from the old email and rebooted. That fixed the problem and removed the old email from the running applications list, leaving froyo mail. Both got setup during my "upgrade fever".

So, is Froyo mail better than the native email? I haven't tried playing around with the Froyo one yet. I did notice that I could "email as a PDF" from the reader side and was given both mail clients as an option (I chose the regular one), so I'm assuming Froyo works with that feature.

I like the Froyo Email over the old email app. For one it seems to sync up better with my gmail, so (as an example) when I actually delete an email from my edge, it gets deleted from my gmail also (the old app didn't do this).

I would echo this. Though, I do still have some email accounts on the "old" email app.
