edge slow after sleeping mode

When I play 'Frozen Bubble', put my Edge in sleeping mode, wake it up after some time and start the game again, it is very, very slow and I have to turn off and restart the Edge to be able to play the game at normal speed. Is this a bug?

Have you tried letting the eDGe sit for 2-5 minutes before trying to play? Depending on what's installed on your eDGe, when you first resume it a number of apps may be busy syncing data via the Internet (e.g. checking email, twitter updates, newsfeeds, etc.). This can make the eDGe temporarily slow.

If waiting 2-5 minutes doesn't help, it could b ethe Frozen Bubble game doesn't "wake up" properly (sort of like me at 5 am in the morning!). You can try going to the Home screen (press the "Home" button) before going into sleep mode and see if that helps.

As a force of habit, before I put my device to sleep, I run a task manager to kill any extra tasks. Frozen Bubble can easily be killed without losing game progress(unlike the PC version). I think the market has a task manager you can download for your eDGe.

I build my white list in the task manager by running the task manager right after a fresh boot and white listing everything that's there. Then when I press the end all, it will terminate any new tasks since boot. It works really well in keeping my eDGe very responsive. I use this very same method on my Android phone to keep it running smoothly. Most task managers allow you to place a end all widget on your home screen, to make it easier to terminate them. I also set the task manager to terminate itself, so that it does not take valuable system resources or cause issues when suspending.

Letting the Edge wake up for some time makes no difference. And it takes less time to shut down and startup again then 2-5 minutes. I only had the problem with frozen bubble, so it's not really a big deal.
