EE - what do I need to teach?

I am considering piloting a study using EE in a small college cohort. Before I do that I need to get one myself. What does one need for accessories from both the teacher and student perspective? How does one hook-up to the projector? Any particular keyboard recommended?

Also, anything else that may be helpful to know is appreciated. I debated getting an ipad for teaching, but from the student perspective, the EE just seems more useful and could actually make the entire class go paperless as opposed to just using as a tool. So I thought I should have the same technology as a student. Thoughts on that as well are appreciated.

A second battery is recommended just to make sure you don't run out in the last class of the day

A "DisplayLink" USB-to-VGA adapter costing about $70-$80 will allow you to connect to a projecter. See http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...ht=displaylink for some example models.

For keyboards, any USB keyboard will work. If you're interested in as small a keyboard as possible that's still practical to use, look at http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...d-for-the-eDGe.

A good, full size stylus is a must. I relly like the stylus from Motion Computing https://store.motioncomputing.com/TA...elID=3&TabID=1

As for keyboards, it depends just how portable you need it to be. When I first got my edge, I grabbed an old USB monster of a keyboard lying around and it was wonderful to use. For fitting in my airplane carryon, I wanted something smaller and on the suggestion of a thread here ended up with one that looks like the Mac keyboards, just about the same size as the edge. That's a neat option because as in the last picture below, I can fold the e-ink side under, lay the keyboard in front, and it actually looks like a mini computer. I got mine from amazon, though it now looks like it's unavailable: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Slim-Key...dp/B003PHJJV6/

devseev's post from a while back about how he uses his edge on business trips also has a great list of accessories, how he uses it in practice etc. I'm sure it will also help you in your planning: http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...Ge-(long-post)

They are still available on ebay for $20 shipping included. Search "super slim keyboard".

I would suggest that you experiment with projector and adapters. We have used several adapters successfully but until the landscape on e-ink is available you may have difficulties in presenting on the e-ink side. When the landscape mode is used on the projector app, the bottom third of the e-ink screen slides out of view. What several instructors have done in this case is capture the e-ink screen and view it on the LCD side. It loses some of the spontaneity of annotating on your text but at least you see the whole page. Hopefully this annoyance will go away.

I've just visited ebay. Yes, different types of keyboards are available there. Thanks everybody for the information. Though I haven't visited amazon yet, but I am considering that there it could be found there because that is another giant e-market.

People (and other creatures?) have also had good results with bluetooth keyboards, which are obviously a bit more elegant than USB keyboards. This one is so small that it doesn't exist yet, but when it does (originally scheduled for around March 15, but now sometime this spring), it will fold up into a neat 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" package:

That keyboard looks pretty solid, gecko. I was always weary of folding keyboards because they work fine on a hard surface, but not your lap. (Maybe I just spend a little too much time on couches!) This one claims that it locks rigidly into place so that you can use it on your lap. It's lounge-worthy!
