Post Walmart and Staples now selling the eDGe

enTourage is gathering steam! You can now order the eDGe from the Walmart and Staples websites in the US in blue or red (http://www.entourageedge.com/edge-resellers). Walmart lists it at $498 (currently the cheapest price all round I think) while Staples decides to go for the full $549.

While this is the best outright deal, you can beat it by $25 by signing up for ebates (http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrer...2BVyF1Ww%3D%3D - plus you'll get a gift card for signing up) and purchasing through JR.com. Through Ebates, you get 3% cash back at J&R, plus you can find a promo code for $10 off through sites like retailmenot.com. I know it is a bit of extra work, but the 10 minutes I spent to save $25 seemed worth it to me.

Nice. People should also compare shipping costs as some places offer better (or free shipping) than others.

Very true. J&R (www.jr.com... one of the retailers on the EE website) offers free shipping on this item. They're based in Pennsylvania (I think), so, living in Maryland, I actually got my EE the day after I ordered it.... all for a total cost of about $475!

Regardless of what website it's on, customers still aren't going to find it unless they're already looking for it. They need to get it in brick-and-mortar stores to break through.

Searching for "ereader", "e-reader", "tablet", and "android" on Walmart's website does not bring up the Edge in the list. Though a great-looking movie called "Android Apocalypse" comes up on the last.

It does come up when you search for "dualbook", but that's probably an unlikely search for a new eyeball.

I'll forward this to Sales as this may be of interest to them

I suspect the problem is that the search only looks at the item title. I know Entourage wants to be all cutting edge (npi) calling it "dualbook", but they might want to call it by a name people are looking for.

I wonder when it will be available in Canada. I've had several people very interested in getting one. One person, after seeing what you could do with it, went directly to Future Shop to ask about. I had neglected to tell her that it was only available in the US.
