hahahahaha, sorry, but I can't take that Chinese thing serious. I'm very pleased and enthusiastic with my eDGe, even if I still got a problem with crashing. it's a pain in the ... but it will be solved. It's my best favorite tool.

You got to love the "Made in China" replicas. As boris said they just do not have the same quality. However, I say bring it on, we need more Android Netbook devices. It will build the need for and increase the number of native large screen Android apps. Bonus for eDGe!!!

I just think it's good to inform EE developers that there'e more android devices with double displays coming very soon. So the only way to success with EE is to make better software (firmware), and create developer's community (anybody know when SDK planned to release?).
![]() p.s. At this moment Alex-reader, and BnN NooK allready hit the sales. I'm interesting in big number of sales. First becouse it will increase the community, wich mean more different software. Second, becouse I'm sotware developer, and more android devices means more income. I have many friends who own Nook and several people with Alex-reader (both android with double displays). But I'm the only one who owns the eDGe. Even the less popular iRex, or PocketBook (which also support pen input and wi-fi internet browsing), have bigger community than eDGe. I'm understand that we like beta-testers group, and there were not big marketing yet. But competitors on their way. So there's no much time to wait, and I really hope that SDK will be released with comming update. |

Lol! This reminds me of when I was travelling through the middleeast and went looking for batteries. All I could find were some crappy ones called "Durasells"!

The first time I saw the Edge it was offered up by a CHINESE/Hong Kong company trying to find someone to market and sell their gadget.......that turned out to be Entourage. It could happen again.

I agree;
Bet buyers of this will not get the same great support that we get from Entourage and besides our support is in the uS provenceman |

and there's small label "made in china" on the back of entourage edge
![]() There's many very quallity manufactors in china. So... Success or fail depends on software and support quallity. |

My (our family's) Red Entourage looks a little bit naff or cheapo (Fisher Price like plastic), but considering my little daughter loves it, I will keep quiet. This is not a champion of design or sleekiness like Apple products, but is supposed to be fit for academic work and not only.
Talking of Chinese stuff, Apple is made in china, I would like you to name 20, really not 10 electric or electronic appliances or devices in your house that are not made in China or do not have a least a part made in China! But this is beyond the point of this discussion. Competition is good, and Entourage MUST understand that better software and listening to customers is what is sell the device... Which bring me back to my 4 points on my wish list! I hope Entourage listen here.... |

All of these clones look like Fisher-Price versions of the eDGe.

It's quite old article. There's two new factories which start to produce e-ink displays now. So price will fall both for displays and devices.
p.s. yep, seems like an OEM looking for distributors. So the real price could be around 200+USD. If the cost will competitive with Alex or Nook, I'll definitelly prefer the Crosstech. |
