I went to clean my lcd this morning and unhappily discovered many small smudgy dots that did not clean at all. I went over the areas several times, but it didn't help. They seem to be on the built in keyboard keys.
I've emailed enTourage about when screen protectors will be available. But I am wondering if others have noticed the same thing and what, if anything, I can do about it. |

I've used the cleaning kit sold by enTourage and last cleaned it about two weeks ago, but no marks then, just one deep scratch that didn't come out. The marks are only visible when the screen is off. I hope I didn't get a defective touch surface that is going to wear out fast. I won't be able to replace my eDGe for several years, unless I win the lottery ;-)
The marks almost look like water spots, but no water has ever gotten on my eDGe. |

No problem on my edge screen and also in e-reader side even if I write and draw a lot on it!!

Hmm, maybe I did get a defective touch screen. My eReader side screen is fine, but I pretty much only read on it. The paint from the forward button is coming off, though I haven't read THAT much on it.

Only use soap on a regular basis, very rarely lotion and that usually before bed, no eDGe. But, perhaps you are on to something. I wonder of my natural oils are different for some reason? Can't think why or how, though. Oh, and the back button on the lcd, which I've used more than the forward on eInk, is still perfect.
As Winnie the Pooh would say, Oh Bother. :-) |

Any suggestions regarding the best/safest way to clean the EE? I'm especially interested in cleaning the LCD side. Other than enTourage's cleaning solution, I wasn't able to find much on The Forum regarding how people are cleaning the screen. And, there was nothing in the user manual.
Hey Boris, you've done an amazing job with the Welcome Basket for the PE users, but, considering their newness to the technology, it might be nice if you could add a little bit about cleaning the PE/EE. I hate to ask more of you when you've already done so much.... ![]() |

I think Boris is fallen asleep today, so I'll try to answer.

Excellent! Thanks for the info. I hope others will find it useful, too.
P.S. While my dog would most definitely be willing to tongue it clean for me, I think I'd rather go with a non-biological method ![]() |

There are clear screen covers that can be bought. Look for the one's that can be cut to size. Not every computer store stocks them.

![]() The only cleaning method I can recommend for either screen is the cleaning pads provided in the enTourage store. These work really well and on any type of screen (phone, laptop, ereader, etc.). I'll update my Welcome Basket as people will quickly want to clean the smudges and dust from the screens, safely. Thanks for the suggestion ![]() |

Kleer Screen (the brand in the Entourage store) is the only stuff hubby will use to clean the macbooks. It's great stuff.
