Japan is pretty advanced compared to other countries with cell and internet technologies. I hear your internet speeds put us to shame, both in speed and cost per MB! (Hubby was just reading about country comparisons last night, and said, "We've gotta move to Japan!")

Checked out MiFi's wikipedia page and it is in quite a few countries, but Italy doesn't seem to be one of them.

Not relevant to the post but I feel obliged to tell you that while Japan has very good cell networks and good Internet, everything is expensive and overall rather technologically backward. For example, WiFi is very hardvto find here. Even at major universities it hardly exists. As for wifi that anyone can access, forget it. Cell phone handsets are woefully behind with tiny screens and character based GUIs. No one (almost) uses a PDA for calendars or contact info. Tell your husband you are better off where you are!!!!!!

OK, now that I know someone here speaks Italian, I will gladly leave all attempts at Italian communication to leadlight. (High school was a long time ago...)
