Thanks for the heads up. The Win7 app looks pretty good.
Update: On PC, I get an error; 'Could not connect to search server'....anyone else see this? (I know this is a little off-topic but any help will be appreciated). Update 2: I finally managed to browse free google books, but guess what? The reader cannot download either PDF or EPUB file. How is it supposed to do anything useful?? Result after 1 hr: Uninstall... I put it on an XP laptop (my Win 7 is in need of repair) and found it only opens XPS files, the website said it supports ePub, but no go. Unless they open it to other formats I find it useless, although pretty, as well.

Could it be that your epub books are DRMed? Although that would make blio even less attractive in my eyes, if it could only read non-DRMed epubs. I have found epub to be a pretty bad format for my uses. It tends to display Greek text very poorly, and Greek is important for my research. So something that doesn't read anything but epub and xps isn't really helpful for me.
I would much prefer that NookStudy become available on Android. It reads PDfs and has many of the features I wish the Edge had (multiple books, multiple page mode, etc.). If I could combine the two? That would be great. |

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the DRM. When you do the open file thing the only choice you are offered in the file types is XPS. Nook study would be good on our LCD, but the 2 page option on phones would not work out. Maybe after more tablets hit the market they will do it for Android.

Blio for PC updated.
Blio is now updated and opens google books (after conversion).
Update: On using it a bit, my enthusiasm has waned to a large extent. It still is very buggy. Converted Google books are terrible. Last edited by pat.indie; 10-09-2010 at 01:41 PM. Reason: Update |
